Walking barefoot gives you a real appetite. For this reason, we have a couple of locations where you can fortify yourself when you feel the need. Those who appreciate a lively atmosphere and the opportunity to leave the children to clamber about on the playground next door will find the Barfuß Café to be just the place. Those of you who prefer calm and quiet will love the Woodland Lounge. What both have in common is the high standards we insist upon: everything is as sustainable as possible, locally produced, and lovingly crafted.

The Barfuß Café – hustle and bustle

Open every day (until one hour before the park closes).

Whether it’s just before embarking on a round of barefoot exploration or just after – it’s never far to our Barfuß Café. And what’s really great is the fact that, from here, you have a view of the part of the park where all the walks begin and end, as well as of the big playground next to the café. So, as your children are letting off steam, you can enjoy a cappuccino and the view across to the historic surgery building.

Our friendly team will be very happy to keep you topped up with tasty nibbles, including paninis, waffles, quiche and cake. We source our ingredients as locally as possible.

Waldemar’s Inn – relaxation and pleasure

Open at weekends, during public holidays, and over the school holidays (until one hour before the park closes).

Waldemar’s Inn is the second gastronomic location in the Barefoot Park. This little eatery sits in an idyllic spot right next to the herb garden, at the feet of Waldemar, the giant wooden sculpture after whom it is named.

Besides coffee and cake, here you will also find flammkuchen and tasty wines and cocktails. Enjoy the peace and quiet here, somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle, notice the gentle tingling feeling in the soles of your feet, and enjoy the moment.

Picnic – just the way you like it

For all those of you who want to organise your visit to the Barefoot Park just the way you like it and bring your own food and drinks, we’ve set up a pretty picnic spot just behind Waldemar’s Inn. Here, in our open-air Woodland Lounge, you can spread yourselves out across the grass to your heart’s content.
